Our Client is a substantial player in the Saudi Arabian catering, housekeeping and laundry market, and part of a larger diversified group with operations throughout Saudi Arabia and the world.

A requirement has arisen for a DIRECTOR OPERATIONS, to be based in AL-KHOBAR, SAUDI ARABIA, very handy for weekends away in Bahrain and the wider Middle East.

Reporting directly to the company's President, with ultimate responsibility for between 400 and 600 staff, you will have senior management responsibility for all of our Client's catering, laundry and housekeeping services provided to both private and government sectors. You will have 8 to 10 managers reporting directly to you.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage operations in a professional manner which maximises financial returns without negatively impacting service and delivery standards.
  • Oversee budget preparation, monitoring actual to budget throughout the year.
  • Participate in strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Establish, manage and implement business development plans.
  • Manage implementation of marketing programs.
  • Identify business opportunities and evaluate the associated risks & financial returns.
  • Participate in the preparation of business proposals and presentation of proposals to prospective clients.
  • Manage implementation of internal training programs.
  • In coordination with the Human Resources department, manage the development and implementation of a program for hiring and training citizens of the countries in which our Client operates.
  • Provision of a monthly abbreviated reports which address key performance indicators, highlights achievements and shortcomings in the areas of new business, occupancy statistics, rental rate statistics, problem areas and proposed resolutions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 15 years experience in senior management positions.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in senior management positions providing extensive exposure to international contract catering and ancillary services such as housekeeping, laundry, as well as recreational, janitorial, transportation, and security services.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Middle East during the last 10 years of employment.
  • Personality, business knowledge, and leadership skills sufficient to assume responsibilities of General Manager position in the future.
  • Demonstrative ability to manage multiple operations spread over a large geographical area.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels, including a multicultural and diverse workforce.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including presentation aspects.

DESIRABLES
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Fluent in Arabic.

REMUNERATION

  • Base salary of between SAR 25,000 to 35,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
