Based in Calgary, the biggest city in Alberta and the 3rd largest city in Canada, our Client is providing an exciting career opportunity for a Senior ORACLE BRM developer. As part of a direct team of 10, and a larger group of 20, you'll be involved at the cutting edge of the communications industry.

DUTIES
  • Assume technical leadership via your superior technical and domain knowledge.
  • Software development within dedicated medium to large projects, ensuring alignment to existing and developing architecture.
  • Anticipate and refine unstated requirements.
  • Undertake design reviews.
  • Be proactive in identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Hunt down and recommend solutions.
  • Deal with and solve those tougher technical issues.
  • Always looking to educate your peers.
  • Help develop architectural design and framework.
  • Mentor the programming team's standards and methodology.
  • Accountability for a high standard of deliverables.
  • Introduce and evaluate new techniques and tools to the development team.
  • Work with other developers, managing technical issues and their processes.
  • Routinely advise programmers on coding, design, testing/debugging.
  • Other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Tertiary degree or technical diploma in computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with Oracle BRM (formerly Portal Infranet) 7.0 or higher.
  • Customised configurations experience.
  • Experience in data migration, import, and legacy conversion.
  • Familiarity with Unix / Linux and Windows operating systems, Apache Web server, some IIS.
  • Working experience with .NET, SOA, XML, web services.
  • Working experience with modeling techniques, including UML and OOA/D.
  • Significant knowledge in programming Java and other internet related programminglanguages and technologies.
  • Familiarity with C, VB, SQL, PHP, Perl, HTML, PHP, Adobe Flex, and Lisp.
  • A wealth of experience in internet programming, together with the development and design of traditional software systems.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, SCRUM / Agile processes.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player.
  • Positive can-do attitude.
  • Customer-focussed.

DESIRABLES
  • Oracle database administration experience.
  • Telecommunications industry experience, ideally wireless.

REMUNERATION
  • CAD 75,000 to 110,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and overall suitability.
