Our Client is a leading EPC contractor with a mega project located in the Middle East, with Design Office based in Montreal, Canada. An immediate requirement has arisen for a REDUCTION AREA SPECIALIST.

DUTIES

• Technical guidance and continued review of area specific deliverables including design documents, bid evaluations.
• Assisting the area lead engineers on technical issues.
• Liaising with the client for technical issues in collaboration with the engineering group supervisors and area discipline lead engineers.
• Liaising with the engineering group supervisors and area discipline lead engineers for area progress and assistance in schedule updates.
• Be responsible in concurrence with area scope of supply and quantities reporting.
• Technology interpretation and implementation.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Minimum 8 years experience in the following facilities:

• Potlines.
• Gas Treatment Centers (GTC). 

• Bulk Material Handling. (alumina, crushed, bath, AIF3).

• Potlining delining.

• PTA Maintenance shop.

• Cathode Sealing.
  

Plus:

• Able to interpret and understand Client provided basic engineering technology package.
• Able to develop and detail basic engineering package.
• Provide direction to develop layouts.
• FamilIar with major facility operations.

• Able to develop process flow diagrams, including sufficient knowledge to size equipment, storage and other throughputs.
• Familiar with state of the art or industry accepted supplier technology (eg. PTA, Cathode sealing, etc).

• Capable of providing direction to other engineers and designers.

Also, familiar with Scope of Supply, Specifications, Material / Service Requisitions for the following major packages:

• Bus bar supply.
• Bus bar fabrication.
• Superstructure.
• Superstructure components.
• Pot shells.
• Pot tending assembly.
• Cathode blocks.
• Cathode bars.
• Refractory material (Silicon Carbide, Carbon blocks, Insulating bricks, Refractory bricks etc).
• Cathode sealing equipment.
• Bulk material handling equipment.
• Pot feed system.
• Gas treatment center.
