Our Client is a well established and leading Middle East based Engineering & Architectural Consultancy.

A Project Manager, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) will soon be required for a major road interchange construction project.

Although you will be taken on to manage a specific project initially, this is a permanent role giving you the opportunity to move into other projects or areas in the future.

DUTIES

• Responsible for managing construction of some of the most well recognised projects within Abu Dhabi
• Liaise with client, client representatives, consultants, company Staff and subcontractors as the company's senior representative on the Project and maintain a high level of accessibility to all parties
• Closely monitor relationships across the wider project team
• Monitor the performance of project team members and ensure that performance exceptions are actioned as required
  
• Oversee all major negotiations for procurement, subcontracts and contractual exceptions
• Co-ordinate company input to formal site meetings and prepare all reports required by the client
• Prepare comprehensive and accurate reports on project status, progress and exceptions for management purposes. Concept & Preliminary reports will require preparation in both English and Arabic.
• Monitor closely performance against budget and program and move proactively on exceptions
• Ensure that administration timetables are adhered to
• Maintain open lines of communication with senior client consultant and user representatives and use these to ensure rapid informal resolution of exceptions wherever possible
• Liaise closely with all relevant parties with regard to planning and subcontractor performance
• Liaise with the appropriate off-project personnel to ensure that the demands of the project are coordinated with the company's other activities
• To ensure that all project activities are undertaken in terms of the processes and systems set out by the company

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 10 years proven management experience in all aspects of road & transportation construction and design projects, including interchanges
• At least 5 years of management experience OVER and ABOVE road design & construction experience
• Experience with complex structural planning, analysis and design for structural aspects of the roads, bridges and retaining walls, etc
• Your core expertise must have been gained in roads and bridges and infrastructure construction
• Capability to review design documents, provide technical guidance and support where required to relevant stakeholders, consultants and clients
• Have extensive experience in a corporate office environment, dealing with support staff, managers, directors, external parties and government agencies
• Must be fully bilingual in English and Arabic (excellent written and spoken - both languages).
• Previous experience in Abu Dhabi
• Already based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

ASSETS

• Previous dealings with Abu Dhabi's Department of Transport projects
• Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Membership of Institute of Chartered Civil Engineers

REMUNERATION PACKAGE

• The compensation package offered to the successful candidate is negotiable, but must be competitively based upon his relevant experience and overall suitability.
