Our Client is a reputable power solutions provider known for its dedication and strong commitment to customer service.

To strengthen its position as a leading supplier of power generation in the Middle East, Africa, and Asian regions, our Client urgently needs a first-rate General Manager. This is an outstanding career opportunity for the right candidate. 

 

JOB PURPOSE

The General Manager is responsible for overall strategic management and control of all departments in the company, overseeing the running of sales, supply chain, and storage activities as well as financial, human resourcing, and administrative functions. 

The GM will manage the entire multi-location UAE operation and support the Afghanistan Branch.

Reportees include three Branch Managers, a Technical Manager and an Operations Manager.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and organise the company’s systems and structures in coordination with the management team and as per the Managing Director’s orientation for work efficiency and continual improvement.  
  • Provide clear direction and leadership on business planning and strategies as well as to day-to-day operations, new business and conduct outside calls, proactively identify opportunities within the market and establish lead generation strategies.
  • Monitor the company’s performance against targets.  
  • Forecast market trends and business opportunities to expand the company’s local and international customer base.
  • Review and analyse periodic sales performance reports and business development plans submitted by branch and sales managers.
  • Oversee all aspects of after-sales support.   
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.   
  • Set and approve departments’ yearly budget.
  • Personally mentor and train subordinates.
  • Work with the Managing Director and departmental Managers to develop a professional workforce, plan manpower requirements, and evaluate perrformance.
  • Make decision together with the Managing Director on all matters related to the management and improvement of the company’s staff and operations.
  • Travel to all markets and areas of operation, including visits to related company operations, dealers, and to pursue business development and growth prospects.     

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Arab, Western, or South African national.
  • Aged 40 to 52 years.
  • Graduate of a business related course. 
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial position within a power generation or heavy equipment company.
  • Proficient in Arabic and English languages.
  • Ambitious, tenacious and a track-record of success.
  • Highly developed leadership capabilities, strong managerial, and business analysis skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle pressure and deliver results.
  • Demonstrates high level of integrity at all times.
  • Computer literate.
  • Driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel, including Afghanistan. 

 

DESIRABLES

  • Jordanian / Lebanese National.
  • Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) university degree.
  • MBA graduate.
  • Knowledge of French language.  

 

REMUNERATION

  • USD 15,000 to 30,000 per month (all inclusive) - INCOME TAX FREE.
  • Standard entitlements as per UAE Labour Law.
