A male VETERINARIAN specialised in falconry is needed for a position in AL AIN, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. You will report directly to the Clinic Manager.

DUTIES

• Provide preventive and diagnostic health care and treatment to falcons, including prescription of medications, vaccinations, dressing & treating wounds, and surgery.
• Provide information to falcon owners on nutrition, breeding and behaviour.
• Euthanase falcons when necessary using humane procedures.
• Drive to various sites to treat falcons.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Male.
• Willing to work split shifts, morning shift 7am to 1pm and then evening shift 4pm to 6pm, plus on call 24 hours.
• Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from accredited college of veterinary medicine, consisting of academic instruction in biology, anatomy, neurology, pathology and pharmacology.
• 5+ years experience working in clinics, including GCC (important for famliarity with local diseases).
• Experience with the handling and treatment of falcons.
• Good English language skills.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• UAE resident.
• Good communication skills.
• Good time management and planning skills.
• Aged 35 to 45 years.
• Arabic language skills.
