Our Client seeks a MALE VETERINARIAN to be based in AL AIN, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

Reporting directly to Live Stock and Fodder Manager.

DUTIES

• Provide preventive and diagnostic health care services to small and large animals ranging from cows, horses, camels, poultry, birds, wildlife and deer.
• Diagnose and treat animal health problems, vaccinate against diseases.
• Perform surgery, prescribe medications for animals suffering from infections.
• Dress and treat wounds.                                     
• Provide information to animal owners on nutrition, breeding and behavior.
• Euthanize animals when necessary using humane procedures.
• Drive to the farm or ranch where the animals are located.
• Check animals for disease before slaughter, ensure safe processing of meat after slaughter, and enforce laws and regulations on sanitation at the processing site.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Must be willing to work split shifts, morning shift 7am to 1pm and then evening shift 4pm to 6pm, plus on call 24 hours.
• Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from accredited colleges of veterinary medicine, consisting of academic instruction in biology, anatomy, neurology, pathology and pharmacology.
• 5+ years experience working on large farms.
• Worked with camels, cattle, sheep, birds, horses and various other animals, both large and small.
• Conversant with diseases and living conditions of wildlife, including deer.
• Experience in GCC so as to be familiar with local diseases and animals.
• Arabic and English language skills.
• Male
• Arabic nationality.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• UAE resident.
• Good communication skills.
• Good time management and planning skills.
• Age 35 to 45 years.
